Killarney overview

Killarney Travel Guide
As the main town in the Irish southwest, and nestled in the middle of beautiful County Kerry, Killarney welcomes all with a lively atmosphere and outstanding surroundings. It is one of traditional music and pubs - well, what Irish town isn’t - and also boasts the fun Ring of Kerry drive, taking in Ireland’s nicest stretch of coastline. The town centre is compact and easy to get about on foot, even though there is standing room only in the summer, although the real allure is the countryside of County Kerry. Killarney National Park is not far from town and can be explored by bicycle, while the famous Gap of Dunloe is also a short distance from town and is great for hiking. There is an airport nearby and trains come in from Dublin via Tralee.
