Dublin overview

The city on the Liffey is the main entry point for most visitors to Ireland and is the Irish Republic’s star attraction. It has really come of age over the last 20 years or so and is now a favourite for tourists from Europe and across the pond. It is as hip as they come and is perfect for a weekend with enough to keep even the most easily bored visitor excited for days on end. Most visitors tend to make a beeline for the busy Temple Bar district, which is crammed with bars and is wall to wall people. Dublin Castle, the Dublinia exhibition, Christchurch Cathedral, Ha’Penny Footbridge, and the General Post Office are all big, must-see Dublin goodies. Dublin International Airport is just north of town and ferries come in from various ports in the UK.
